Intensive wheel throwing course
Ever wanted to learn how to use the pottery wheel or want to improve your skills? This intensive course is for you! Over the course of 5 days you will dig deep into the basic techniques of wheel throwing with a small group of creatives.
Get in some practice hours and really delve into the different techniques and process of clay. A perfect way to start your summer!

14th of July both groups attend the glazing class at 11:00 - 13:30
What to expect?
This course is meant for pottery wheel beginners and everyone who wishes to improve, or refresh the basic techniques. Every class is 3.5 hours, which means you can really delve into the process and see improvement each day! Each class starts with some basic explanation and a tutorial. Afterwards, all students will prepare their clay and materials and start practicing. Lastly, we all clean up together. There is enough time to take a short break, the studio offers tea, coffee and some small snacks.
DAY 1: Introduction to clay. We'll walk you through the common clay process from beginning to end. Then we will focus wedging and for the rest of the class work on centering the clay.
DAY 2 : Practice centering, work on opening the clay and make a basic cylinder shape.
DAY 3: Work on a sturdy cylinder shape and bowls/other rounded shapes.
DAY 4: Focus on trimming all pieces and attach handles & carve (hand-built) details
DAY 5: Glazing

Each group has a maximum of 4 people ensuring detailed and focussed tips & tricks from your teacher.
Costs: €385 per person. Included: all materials, tools, clay, glazing and firings are included.
